Shoreline Inn has a new addition to our team; Sharyn & Mike bring decades of hospitality experience with them to Cayucos. As the new Resident Night managers they are thrilled to begin this new journey on the beautiful Central Coast. Below is a bit of their story.

It all began many years ago on a Chicago Northwestern Commuter train. When a blonde-haired, blue-eyed farm boy, named Mike made the deliberate decision to move from his seat and sit down in the empty one next to a brown-eyed, brunette city girl named Sharyn. That one impulsive decision changed their lives forever.

Just a little over a year later, they had a storybook wedding in a small chapel on a lush 40 acre coconut grove known as the Coco Palms resort on the island of Kauai, HI., the exact location where the fantasy wedding of Elvis occurred in “Blue Hawaii”

Mike and Sharyn always believed “Life should be an adventure” and from that time on, that is exactly how they lived their lives. One of their most exciting (and challenging) experiences was restoring a historic 1860 Victorian, located on three acres in the Bay area of San Francisco. They transformed it into an elegant, award winning Bed and Breakfast Inn and added an English Tearoom where they coordinated special events, meetings, fundraisers, and weddings at the
Inn for over 12 years.

They enthusiastically declared the highlight of their careers, however, to be a three-year assignment overseas where they served as General Managers for a 5-star resort in the Fiji Islands. It was an amazing adventure working with the Fijian people and scuba diving with the son of Jacque Cousteau, alongside sea turtles, dolphins, sharks, and even Humpback whales!

Fast forward to today, where Mike and Sharyn are about to celebrate their 40th Wedding anniversary and living yet another hospitality adventure on the beach. They are now the newest addition to the Shoreline Inn team as the Resident Night Managers. Stop by and say Aloha (Hawaiian) or Bula Bula (Fijian)- they look forward to getting to know all our Shoreline Inn Beach Buddies!
