2018 Central Coast Bucket List

2018 Bucket List
2017 seemed to be a year of change, unexpected events and reflection. We can only imagine what 2018 has in store for us. Why not take the reins and replace your New Year’s resolution list with an adventure packed Central Coast bucket list in our charming town of Cayucos, California? Any great bucket list has a few adventures like sky diving, swimming with sharks, or visiting a new destination like Antarctica or Bora Bora (top of my lifetime bucket list). Here are a few ideas for a great start to this new year; a list filled with realistic and attainable goals.
Cayucos Polar Bear Dip New Year’s Day Noon
The first item on our bucket list starts on the first day of the year. For the last 39 years Cayucos has held a Polar Bear Dip right on Cayucos Beach at noon. Locals and visitors gather for a refreshing dip into the cool 58-degree ocean water, many in creative costumes. Fun fact: studies have shown that people who live (or vacation) next to the ocean live a longer life, and those who go into the water live an even longer life. Mark your calendar for January 1, 2019.
Learn How to Surf in Cayucos
Learning how to surf is something that many people wish they could try at some point in their life. Step out of your comfort zone and try a new adventure while vacationing in Cayucos. Good Clean Fun offers surf lessons to people of all ages and all experience levels. Their friendly and qualified instructors provide a wetsuit, a soft top surfboard, and one on one instruction, group lessons are also available. For more info or to book a lesson call Good Clean Fun.

Enjoy the Natural Wonders of the Ocean
If you enjoy the ocean but getting in the water isn’t your cup of tea, a whale watching tour is a great opportunity to get an up-close view of the tantalizing marine life around the Central Coast. This last year was a spectacular year for viewing the migrating whales pass by Cayucos. We saw many Gray whales swim by, the acrobatic Humpback whales putting on shows, and some days we were blessed to see Orcas feeding in Morro Bay.
