October in Cayucos!

October is a happy month in Cayucos. Sunny days, chilly nights, and colorful sunsets. Rain or shine, everyday is a good time to explore the Central Coast.This October we had record breaking heatwave, windy days, big waves, and even some rain.
Here are a few activities that you don’t want to miss out on during the month of October.
This year over 540 scarecrows were added to Cambria’s small population of 6,032. Scarecrows can be located throughout the town of Cambria and San Simeon during the entire month of October. SLO Cow Parade
The internationally acclaimed Cow Parade is moooooving along in SLO County.
These hand decorated full size fiberglass cows can be found at various locations from San Simeon all the down to Edna Valley. Here is a link for a downloadable map to see if you are up for the challenge to find all 101 cows.

Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove
Count from 2016 season is 28,000 Monarch butterflies and they can be seen clustering from the limbs of Eucalyptus trees from late October- February. It is definitely a sight that must be seen if you are in the Central Coast. Fun fact Monarchs weigh from 0.25 - 0.75 of a gram and they require milkweed as food.
